Zappo

Tony Hsieh, the late ex-CEO of online retailer Zappos, is known for his trailblazing workplace policies — including one in which the company offered up to $2,000 to unhappy new employees to leave the company, essentially bribing them to quit.Nov 30, 2020

Zappos has had a program that pays new employees $4,000 to quit the company during initial training sessions. The policy was designed to make sure their new hires are committed to working beyond just a paycheck.

Today the offer is equal to one month's salary. This enables people to find their satisfaction elsewhere rather than being unhappy in their role and quitting or being terminated.
